The Sanguine Path
Where the Verdant Path nurtures life, the Sanguine Path turns inward and downward — into the body, the grave, memory, and the cost of changing what one is.
This is not casual spellcasting. It is ritualized transgression.
Practitioners collect blood, ash, relics, and soul-tainted remnants. They carve circles, prepare altars, preserve remains, and perform rites beneath moonlight or in sanctified darkness. The school is not purely evil — but it is invasive, intimate, and costly. Every rite leaves a mark.
Plays like: ceremonial ritualist / self-transformer / grave-tender
Visual language: blood sigils on pale stone, soul lanterns, grave candles, silver ritual tools, black mirrors, moonlit basins
Power source: blood, soul remnants, sacrifice, and personal transformation
The question the Sanguine school asks is not “what can I summon” or “what can I build.” It asks what power can be drawn from mortality, memory, hunger, and the willingness to change what you are.
Sanguine Exposure accumulates as you invest in this path. Ritual scarring, blood debt, and forbidden insight accumulate alongside power. At high exposure the land around you remembers what has been done there.
High Sanguine Exposure is legible to other schools — and exploitable.
